<note>This study aims to investigate the listening strategies applied by students of the English Department at STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau. In this research the writer collected the data and information from respondents using closed-ended questionnaires. and the data were analyzed quantitatively with descriptive statistics. The participants of this study were 29 students of the even semester at the English Department at STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau. The result of this research confirmed that students under this study applied all listening strategies in their listening class. The strategies mostly used are the direct strategies. The students admit that the listening strategies helped them improve their listening skills.
