<note>This study was about Figurative Language used in “The Gingerbread Story” from Story book collection “Just After Sunse”t by Stephen King. The problem of this study was what are the types of figurative language used in short story “The Gingerbread Girl” by Stephen King?. The objective of this study was to identify types of figurative language used in “The Gingerbread Girl” short story. This study was descripitive qualitative method. In order to get some data, the writer conducted library research, it was analyzing document. In analyzing the types of figurative language used in “The Gingerbread Girl” by Stephen King , theory of Keraf (2009) was used. The result of this study showed that, there are seven types of figurative language. In conclusion there are seven types of figurative language used in short story “The Gingerbread Girl” were (simile 43 data, methapor 12 data, personification 13 data, allegory 2 data, hyperbole 30 data, irony 3 data, and repetition 13 data).
