<note>This research aimed to prove that teaching reading comprehension by using Listen- Read-Discuss (LRD) Strategy of argumentative text to the eleventh grade students of MAN 2 Lubuklinggau was significantly effective. The method was pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. The population of this research was the students of Class XI.1 until XI.6 consisted of 237 students. Purposive sampling was used in this research and the result was Class XI.1 which consisted of 40 students. The instrument was multiple choice test with 20 items used to collecting data of this research. The result showed the significant difference between the students’ mean score in the pre-test and post-test. The average score in the pre-test was 67 while in the post- test was 76.6. The t-obtained was 10.02 higher than 1.685 in t-table. Therefore, the researcher found out that teaching reading comprehension by using Listen-Read- Discuss (LRD) Strategy to the eleventh grade students of MAN 2 Lubuklinggau was effective. Finally, it can be stated the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected.
