<note>This study aimed to explore students' perceptions of using ChatGPT in academic writing at PGRI Silampari University. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the research focuses on the sixth-semester students as the population, with 23 students selected as subjects. The data was collected through questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed by using percentage-based statistical techniques (Likert scale) supported by interview findings.The results indicate that sixth-semester students hold positive perceptions of ChatGPT. Both the questionnaire and interview data demonstrate favorable views regarding its use, highlighting its benefits in supporting their learning process. The findings suggest that ChatGPT serves as a helpful tool for students in academic writing. The researcher concluded that while ChatGPT is perceived positively, its effective integration requires proper guidance to maximize educational benefits.
