AN ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH TEACHERS’ PERCEPTION OF MERDEKA CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTED AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN LUBUKLINGAU
XML JSONThis research aimed to determine the perceptions of Elementary Schools English teachers toward the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The data were collected by using questionnaires. This research involved 8 English teachers of Elementary Schools in Lubuklinggau Timur I. The results showed that English teachers have a positive and negative perception of Merdeka Curriculum. In conclusion, Merdeka Curriculum has many positive perceptions on students, teachers, and the teaching and learning process. The positive perception on students were students became more active, independent, and improvement based on student interests. In addition, a positive perception on teachers was increasing self-independent in the teaching and learning process. The teachers were free to express ideas about how to teach and keep the classroom atmosphere more comfortable. Meanwhile, the negative perceptions were about teacher readiness, uneven education, financing in the teaching and learning process.
