DEVELOPING POWERPOINT LEARNING MEDIA BASED ON ANDROID IN TEACHING READING TEXT FOR THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMKN 1 LUBUKLINGGAU

This research aims to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of Developing Powerpoint Learning Media Based on Android in Teaching Reading Text for Tenth Grade Students at SMKN 1 Lubuklinggau. In conducting this research, the researcher used ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation) as steps in developing the product meanwhile Formative Evaluation written by Tessmer (1993) was used to evaluate the data. Three experts namely content English expert, media expert and instructional design and language expert were brought in to evaluate the application validity. To determine the practicality and effectiveness of the product, the researcher implemented in one-to-one trial with three students who participated, six students participated in small group trial and forty students participated in large group trial or field test and were obtained from the tenth grade students at SMKN 1 Lubuklinggau as subjects of the research. Questionaires, interview and a test were utilized to collect the data. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively for the interview and quantitatively by using average score for the questionaires and the test. After analyzed the data, the product in the form of a application was categorized high valid with average score 4.12, at one-to-one trial was categorized very high practical with average score 4.58, at small group trial was categorized very high practical with average score 4.59 and at large group trial or field test was categorized very highly effective with average score 87. In conclusion, the application has good criteria in terms of validity, practicality and effectiveness.
