FRANKENSTEIN:THE WAY OF AUTODIDACT LEARNING OF THE MONSTER CHARACTER

This study aimed to reveal the process of autodidact learning accustomed by the monster character in the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. In this qualitative study, the way of monster autodidactism will be analyzed in a sociological approach. To collect the data, the writer read the novel inclusively and notes the related sentences in the novel.As the result of this study, the writer found some particular data that show the monster way in learning adjusted to Comenius theory of Autodidact, which are proceed by small stages, self examine everything, and act by own impulsion. In addition, the monster classifies into unschooled group of autodidact following the theory of Boden about the categories of autodidact learner. As the conclusion, autodidact learning applied by the monster character in Frankenstein novel.
