THE IMPLEMENTATION OF QUESTION – ANSWER RELATIONSHIPS (QAR) STRATEGY TO IMPROVE READING COMPREHENSHION OF STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 5 LUBUK LINGGAU
XML JSONThis research was aimed to determine the effectiveness of using the Question- Answer Relationship (QAR) strategy to improve students' reading comprehension. The was pre-experimental with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the Eleventh grade students consisted of 271 students. Cluster random sampling was used and the sample selected was XI F4 class consisted 33 students. The data collection technique was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions based on explanation texts. Date analysis was conducted using a paired t-test to compare the results of the pre-test and post-test. The result showed that the average pre-test score was 47.27, while the average post- test score increased to 70.75. The conclusion of this study is that the QAR strategy is effective in improving the reading comprehension of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 5 Lubuklinggau.
